Burning Man 2011, Saturday Morning

Deep playa cinema

Sunrise with Tayyab

The amazing Temple of Transition was briefly the largest temporary wooden building in the world...

The Temple...

Every year the temple gets covered in writing by Burning Man participants - often messages to a loved one or friend who died in the previous year. The burning of the temple on Sunday night is solemn as everyone's writing and the wood goes up in flames as a crowd numbering in the tens of thousands watches in silence.

Looking towards the Earth Harp

Inside the temple, gamelan instruments hung from the walls and were set up with electronically programmed mallets...intermittently playing 24 hours a day...

2nd story inside of temple

Every morning after sunrise, I pulled up a stool and had some cereal or granola at Cereal Thriller in the 3:00 keyhole.
